All the Heart Eyes for Fall

So, Um, Yeah...there went that month!

Things have been crazy with gymnastics meets (Arden is TEARING it UP and we are quickly running out of space on her brand new medal holder for all of her medals), soccer season in full swing, and now Dax started basketball. Also, I'm lazy, let's face it.

Anyways, it is late again, so this is going to be one of those picture-heavy, word-light posts...but guys, the leaves this year were PHENOMENAL!  We took a couple of trips to the cabin and Logan Canyon blew my socks off.  And I took the most beautiful run up Fish Haven Canyon one glorious morning.

Guys.  It was like running through Fairly Land.  Look:
AAACK!  Could you just roll up and DIE from the eye searing beauty and the soul shattering knowledge that in two weeks it will be gone?  Fall scenes like this fill my heart up to bursting...and then it bursts because it is TOO SHORT!

Why oh why can't this last for six months like winter?  Here is the bridge I run across on most of my cabin runs, but it only looks like this in early October:

One more from the run:

Fall runs up the canyon are the absolute best, because...leaves...and because I am the only one there.

There was one grove of aspen trees right around the Sinks in Logan Canyon that really outdid itself this year.  I had to stop to take pictures of it twice.  Even in the rain, it was STUNNING:
I have never seen trees quite so bright and beautiful yellow-almost-orange.  I went back on the way home and stopped the car and ran right up into them:
Heaven.

Also in Logan Canyon is Beaver Creek Lodge.  They do horseback riding and Cora has been dying to go over since she hit the minimum horseback riding age of 7.  We were pretty busy all summer, so we figured we better do it before the snow started flying.  Grandpa came too.

It started raining just as we were signing our waivers, so they let us borrow some attractive army jackets.  Here is Cora on her horse!  My horse was Jax, and Grandpa is on Marshall, who liked to eat instead of walk.

It sprinkled a bit at first, but was soon just cloudy.  The ride was beautiful.  I was in front setting the pace, so we did some trotting just to see what would happen.  The kids loved it, and Cora giggled like crazy every time her horse started trotting.
The kids all did great, and didn't even fall off when we got to go across a stream:
Beaver Mountain looked all dressed up in yellow!  Dax wanted to know when we could go skiing.

The cowboy with us took our picture, and said the kids were all naturals with really good balance.  We had a great time!

Ah, fall,  All the heart eyes for you.  Stay a little longer please!
