Crazy Days

Guys, no excuses.  The blog keeps falling by the wayside!  It is just life getting in the way.  Things are crazy.  By way of defense, here was my day, in waaaay more detail then you care about:

7:00 - Hear two little kids getting up.  Think about getting up, but decide that since the alarm is going off soon, I might as well just stay in bed until it goes off.
7:15 - Time to get up for reals, but hubs is in the bathroom anyway.  Might as well stay stay in bed until he is out.
7:30 - Okay, up and at em!
7:30 - 8:30 - Wake up oldest kid (4 times), get everyone breakfast, make lunches, get everyone dressed, hair done, teeth brushed, backpacks packed, and out the door to the carpool.
8:30-8:45 - clean up breakfast, try to do my hair, give up.
8:45 - 9 - take the dog out, drive down to the school.
9:00 - 10:00 - volunteer at Dax's class, reading with first graders.
10:0-10:10 check Arden out of school, get to orthodontist appointment (had to do it in the middle of school because missed our regular appointment a couple of weeks ago when Dax was throwing up)
10:10 - 10:45 - orthodontist!  Always great fun!  Arden looooooves getting her braces tightened up.  It puts her in SUCH a good mood!
10:45-11:00 - run Arden back to school, race kindergarten carpool home (it is early out this week because of parent teacher conferences.  Joy.)
11:00 - 11:10 - Cora is invited to impromptu playdate at her "boyfriend's" house (more on that later). Take her over there.  Yay!
11:10 - 12:40 - Work like crazy on my laptop.  Things are really busy at work lately.  Make very small dent in to-do list.
12:40 -1:20 Cora is home! Eat lunch while hearing all about boyfriend.  Take dog out again, throw in some laundry, clean up lunch.
1:20-1:35 - Go pick up big kids and carpool friends, drive everyone home (early out).
1:35 - 3:00 - After school snacks (or three, if you are Dax).  Ask, beg, help and bribe kids to get their homework done and rooms cleaned.  Empty dishwasher and move laundry around.  Hear calendar beep, and remember that I volunteered at the beginning of the school year to bring a bunch of sodas over to the school for the teachers' dinner they have once a term during parent teacher conferences.  Sodas that must be at the school no later than 4:00.  Joy.
3:00-3:15 - Look for shoes (no joke.  We just wore them to school, but they somehow disappear into the ether at any given opportunity).
3:15 - 3:30 - Pick up drinks at corner market (much more expensive than Target, but time is of the essence).  Drop drinks off at the school.
3:30-4:00 - Follow up on homework/room cleaning bribe by taking kids to Orange leaf.  Watch kids like a hawk to make sure they don't load up too many pounds of candy on their yogurt, and try not to roll my eyes as Dax puts sour patch kids on his chocolate brownie yogurt.  Ew.  I choose pink lemonade flavor.  Tastes like summertime.  How much longer until summertime??
4:00-4:15 - Drop off Arden at gymnastics, then drive the rest of us to Costco since we are out of bread and Hi-Chews :)
4:15 - 4:45 - Wander around Costco making sure Dax doesn't take too many free samples.  Be the meanest mom ever by not letting Dax get the sample of the energy drink.
4:45 - 5:10 - Load up car, drive home, unload car.  Set out some dinner ingredients, write pleading note to husband to start cooking when he gets home.
5:10 - 5:35 - Go pick up Arden, then drive everyone to ice skating lessons.
5:35 - 5:45 - Tie on 6 ice skates.  They can tie shoes, but they can't lace their ice skates tight enough, so the honor falls to me.
5:45 - 6:15 - Blissful 30 minutes of alone-time while I watch the kids ice skate and read my book.
6:15 - 6:35 - Untie 6 ice skates, drive home.
6:35 - 7:00 - Get home to find husband making dinner, heart flutters!  Good husband!
eat dinner, update hubby on kid situation (they need baths, but at least their homework is done!)  Wish him good luck and head out the door to Young Womens.  Pray the kids are asleep by the time I get home.
7:00 - 8:30 - Young Women activity.
8:30 - 9:00 - Tuck girls in bed (except Dax who is already sleeping), brief chat with Preston, change clothes.
9:00 - 10:00 - Run on treadmill while watching the Jazz almost beat the Clippers.  Only have to send Cora back to bed once.  Drag myself back upstairs and look at dirty kitchen.  Try best to ignore dirty kitchen.  Sit down at computer.
10:00 - 10:15 - Pay bills.
10:15 - Now - dork around on computer.  All I have left to do is take a shower and get ready for bed.

But that sounds like too much work.  I am too tired to get ready for bed.
Today was thankfully the kids' last ice skating lesson.  They were twice a week for the last three weeks, and they seemed HARD to do with our already busy schedule.  I was excited they were over, but today Cora informed me that she can't wait to do the next lessons so she can "learn to twirl" and that she wants to be a skater in the Olympics.  *sigh*

Well, off to bed for me, as soon as I can get the energy!  I will think about more ice skating tomorrow.  As always, I will try to do better!
